Viewing Life from the Galaxy
When recently a priest commented that I have been etherized and sent out into the galaxy (in explanation of why the person is not being utilized by the Church in any active sense), I have pondered the good of ether and of living life all for God as a person not of the earth.
When one offers to live all for God, all aspects of life must be viewed from God's perspective. In our sinfulness and human nature, this is not easy. It takes constant readjustment. But slowly the change is effected.
When one offers all for God, then the devil also offers himself and all his little demon pals, to attack in any way possible. Life becomes more a ground of spiritual warfare.
The all-for-God soul keeps praying and doing hidden and hopefully humble acts of good, and then should not be surprised by counter-attacks.
Part of what occurs is a sense of roller-coastering through the days and nights. Demonic attacks come from within and without, in thoughts and in actions of others. Then, in the darkest moments and the most intense assaults, God and His angels send consolations.
One priest reminded this soul to not allow the passions to go up or down in all this. Another priest, the soul's regular confessor, said to remain solid and move straight through.
Ah, this is not easy. This soul is not particularly without passion, and the reactions either low or high are difficult to bring into the center. However, like ether in the galaxy, the fire must not burn out too quickly or flare up erratically.
The soul must learn to exist in the galaxy, as ether, but as stabilized ether, as a vapor of the upper realms, and thus not of earth except in goodness and love, in prayer and essence all for God's use, for souls on earth and in purgatory.
